Member Spotlight – Anthea Harrison
After attending a community college seminar and learning about Vitality SarcoHealth’s Choose How You Age challenge, Anthea Harrison, now 86 years old, decided to make a simple commitment: invest in her health and become stronger. What she never expected was how profoundly that decision would transform her life.
Recently, Anthea celebrated an extraordinary milestone—completing her 1,000th strength-building class. While many would consider that a finish line, Anthea sees it as just another step in her journey. Today, she continues to strength train twice each week, embracing a lifestyle that has become an important part of who she is.

What began as a willingness to “try something new” grew into years of steady progress, determination, and discovery. Week after week, Anthea showed up for herself. Along the way, she accomplished things she once never imagined possible, holding a plank for more than a minute, improving her balance and mobility, and gaining the strength to rise from the floor without holding onto anything.
For Anthea, however, the greatest rewards extend far beyond physical achievements. She has gained confidence in her body, renewed energy for daily life, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing she can remain active and independent. She has also built meaningful friendships with fellow participants who encourage, support, and motivate one another every step of the way.

Those who know Anthea describe her as positive, dedicated, and inspiring. Her smile, encouragement, and unwavering commitment have become a source of motivation for others in every class she attends. Through her actions, she reminds everyone around her that aging does not have to mean giving up strength, vitality, or possibility.
Her improved SarcoHealth results reflect the power of consistent effort—stronger muscles, better balance and stability, enhanced mobility, and a renewed sense of independence. More importantly, they demonstrate that it is never too late to take charge of your future health.
Anthea’s achievement is about far more than completing 1,000 classes. It is a celebration of perseverance, resilience, and the belief that every person has the ability to choose how they age.
Her story serves as an inspiring reminder to our entire community: the strongest investment we can make is in ourselves, and it’s never too late to begin.
This Sun Lakes senior is proving that strength, confidence, and personal growth have no age limit.
