Physical Therapist (PT)

Purpose
The primary purpose of the Sarco Therapist – Physical Therapist (PT) is to provide Sarcotherapy to our patients in a manner consistent with the company’s values and policies, which are to provide an exceptional patient experience in a positive and uplifting environment for the team.
Reporting
The Sarco Therapist – PT reports to, and is accountable to the Clinic Lead.
Responsibilities
- Create an exceptional patient experience.
- Consistently review all members’ charts and analyze progress to ensure optimal outcomes are achieved in accordance with the research and our evidence-based protocols.
- Optimize patient retention and the success of the clinic by promoting our patients to graduate to our SarcoHealth program.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude at all times towards all visitors and team members.
- Effectively communicate our WHY.
- Provide outstanding Sarco-Screenings and ongoing education.
- Educate and guide our patients in a manner that is consistent with our protocols.
- Build genuine relationships with our members.
- Review and communicate standard sarcopenia measures with each member every 30 days.
- Handle phone calls and walk-in inquiries, as needed, in a consistent manner.
- Keep the clinic neat, clean and free of clutter.
- Monitor equipment function and immediately communicate any maintenance issues.
- Assist with opening and/or closing duties.
- Consistent communication with your patients, team and the leadership.
- Examine patients and develop evidence-based plans of care that promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, prevent disability, and directly combat sarcopenia.
- Work with patients to prevent loss of mobility, applying the latest research to encourage healthier and more active lifestyles.
- Provide exceptional care to patients who have sarcopenia related functional problems as well as those that may be the result of injuries, sprains/strains and fractures, arthritis, burns, amputations, stroke, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy and spina bifida, and injuries related to work and activity.
- Evaluate and treat movement dysfunction using appropriately coded interventions such as neuromuscular re-education, therapeutic exercise, functional training, manual therapy techniques, assistive and adaptive devices and equipment, and physical agents and electrotherapeutic modalities.
- Collaborate with a variety of other professionals, such as physicians and specialists.
- Complete all initial evaluation, daily notes, progress notes and re-evaluations and documentation in a timely manner (48 hours or less). Note, if additional time is required it must be discussed with your supervisor.
- Adhere to the APTA Guide for Professional Conduct.

Job Requirements
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, and stand for long periods.
- Ability to move heavy equipment and lift patients or help them turn, stand, or walk.
- Use interpersonal and communication skills in order to educate patients about their condition and physical therapy treatments and communicate with patients’ families.
- A high degree of compassion and empathy for the older adult population.
Minimum Qualifications
- State issued Physical Therapy Licensure
- A four-year degree or a nationally recognized certification within the field of exercise and wellness, kinesiology, sports medicine, athletic training, or human movement science preferred
- Post-baccalaureate degree from an accredited physical therapy program or grandfathered degree in accordance with APTA practice guidelines and requirements
- Current CPR, AED and First Aid Certification
- Strong relational intelligence
- Extraordinary listening and communication skills
- A heart for working with seniors.
Compensation
Based on experience
